An experimental bilingual special project about Finnish metal music as a cultural phenomenon. Its goal is to show how Finnish metal was shaped by history, mythology, climate, and national culture. The project also helps draw attention to local metal festivals and can serve as an example of a promotional format for music events.

Special Project
The project is based on the idea of presenting Finnish metal not just as a music genre, but as part of the country’s cultural identity. That is why the structure is built sequentially: first, the viewer is introduced to the distinctive features of Finnish metal, then to mythological and cultural imagery, and after that to festivals and key performers. Within the project, I developed the full structure and narrative logic to consistently present Finnish metal as a cultural phenomenon. For the visual concept, I studied the descriptions of the mythological characters mentioned in the text, as well as existing visual interpretations of these images, and on this basis generated illustrations using AI. In addition, I prepared short texts, designed and built the website, added animation and interactive elements, and adapted the project for mobile devices.

Visual solutions

The project was designed to present Finnish metal as a distinctive cultural phenomenon and, at the same time, to draw attention to local festivals through a more engaging digital format. This goal was achieved through a structure that gradually раскрывает the theme from cultural context to specific artists and events, as well as through visual solutions that combine storytelling, AI-generated imagery, animation, and interactive elements. As a result, the project turns a complex cultural topic into a clear and engaging digital story with both educational and promotional value.
